EnDat Usage Notes — Usage information about the
I/O module
EnDat Protocol Description
The EnDat module acts as the master component of the EnDat data communication with
an encoder (slave). The EnDat protocol is bidirectional, meaning that the master
module provides the clock, sends commands and receives the data on the data line.
The basic timing diagram is illustrated in the image below.
EnDat Delay Compensation
The current implementation of the EnDat driver block supports delay compensation.
Therefore the transmission frequency will behave as illustrated in blue in the image
below:
